PRESENT SIMPLE

PRESENT SIMPLE

It is used to talk about habitual, generic actions, without referring to whether they are being carried out at the present time.

EXAMPLE

I study English

He plays tennis

I work in a bank

It is also used to talk about future actions that have already been planned, especially when referring to travel.

EXAMPLE

I leave Madrid tomorrow morning

the form of the "simple present" coincides with that of the infinitive without the particle "to", except in the third person of the singular in which an "s" is added

if the verb ends in "ss", "sh", "ch", "x", "o", the third person of the singular is added "es".

if the verb ends in "y" after a consonant, forming the third person of the singular replaces this "y" with an "i", followed by the ending "es".
